Over 2 million students have been excited, engaged and energized by the Dare to Dance Assembly!
Highly interactive, this popular assembly will have everyone movin’ and groovin’ through time with all the favorite songs and dances from the 1950’s through today’s hottest moves. How about a little swing dancing, twist, disco, robot, cha-cha, hip hop and a boot scootin’ boogie on your musical history tour? In one hour students will learn steps that will enhance self esteem, social skills and coordination so they can look and feel good on any dance floor! New for fall 2018 and winter and spring of 2019! Dare to Dance will be joining the National Dance Foundation to promote an anti-bullying message at all the assemblies! Follow up information will be given to teachers afterward.

Christy can teach up to 400 students at a time as long as there is sufficient room to move. Participants must have at least one foot between them in order to make the assembly or event a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone. This is an active participation session so students will enjoy themselves more if good ventilation is available and water is nearby after the assembly. Please be aware that music is played throughout the assembly. NOTE: This assembly is geared towards Grades K-6. For Middle and High School students, Christy teaches during the daily PE classes (one day to six week courses).

Questions and Answers
How many people can Christy teach at one time, and how much space is required? Christy can teach up to 400 people at a time as long as there is sufficient room to move. Participants must have at least one foot between them in order to make the assembly or event a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone. This is an active participation session so students will enjoy themselves more if good ventilation is available and water is nearby after the assembly. Please be aware that music is played throughout the assembly.
What equipment do we need to host one of Christy’s assemblies? An elevated stage is required so that instruction can be viewed by everyone. The stage must be at least adult knee high and 8′ X 8′. No chairs are necessary. This assembly also has the option of using lighting effects. Outside assemblies are discouraged due to the safety of the floor, the lighting, and the weather conditions on the equipment.
How long will each assembly take, and what will it entail? Plan on at least an hour per assembly for students to sufficiently get warmed up, learn the dances where they feel a sense of accomplishment and allow for a cool down. At the end of the assembly is a question and answer session followed with a motivating discussion on the importance of fitness and education in our lives. We recommend dividing the students in groups according to age when planning the assembly. (For example: Grades K-3 and 4-6).
Please request either a morning or afternoon slot. We require one hour set up time and we can set up without disturbing student activities. We do offer full days at schools with a maximum of four assemblies.
How much do assemblies cost? Our fee is $300 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours. Due to the high energy nature of these assemblies, we can only offer a maximum of four daily. Our sound system, lights, liability insurance and instruction is included in the fee.
How do we get started and book an assembly? You must complete an application form. Once we receive your application form, we will contact you to confirm the date and send you a contract.
Do you also do special events? Yes! These Include dance instruction, music, equipment, lights and props. See Entertainment page.
What does your 6th grade graduation dance entail? This special two-hour dance is one of our most popular programs. We guarantee the 6th graders at your school will enjoy themselves. (We also offer this to schools with 5th graders). In addition to learning the most popular dances of the decades, #1 songs will be played. At the end, students will be “transformed” into the future where they become the next “President of the United States” dancing at their Inaugural Ball! In addition, they will learn the most current dances and students are invited to come onstage one-by-one to dance their favorite dance or take a bow as they celebrate their graduation. Then “sentimental” music plays as they leave their elementary school. Note: This event can be combined with food and drinks, yearbook signing, picture taking or award ceremonies!
